Got Leftovers?
In preparing to preach, by God’s grace, you have a little more content, insight and thoughts than you can include in your sunday sermon. There is loads of stuff that gets a mention, or gets left in the study that people might want to chew over, consider more or challenge. This blog exists to house those leftovers and scraps.
It’s called ”12 Baskets” after the miracle recorded in John 6, where Jesus feeds 5000+ people with 5 loaves and 2 fish. After the miracle there are 12 baskets of leftovers…
I hope people find this of some use.. I think of it like a roast beef sandwich on a monday lunchtime!! You know how it is with the Sunday dinner… If there are any leftovers, they are great in a sandwich on Monday!!
These Sermon leftovers might just help us consider Sunday’s teaching in the light of our busy week.
The sermons are mostly preached here, where I am serving as one of the ministers.
(I prefer speaking to writing, so forgive me when the posts are all over the place… Give them a listen on our podcast)
